In a school that was dominated by large brick heritage buildings and long corridors, the new biology block was designed as two 3-storey wings forming a courtyard space. Circulation was via open verandahs with half round concrete pipes forming planters. The exterior walls onto Western Park could then be glazed, allowing generous green views and soft light to the classrooms.
