PUBLICHASTINGS CIVIC CENTRE
An open competition for redeveloping Hastings Civic Centre was won by Mitchell and Stout principal Ginny Pedlow, and Professor Mike Austin.
The design brought together the existing art gallery and library with new reception, display, foyer and restaurant areas, all set in a redeveloped park. The project has since been extended to include an Innovation Hub, new gallery and performance spaces, and a centre for Ngati Kahungunu.
